Presidential Medal

The President’s Medal is the highest honor that the State University of New York at New Paltz can offer to an individual. Typically, two of them are awarded each year. The HVAMC has been tasked with printing, casting and finishing these medals before they are sent to an engraver to have the recipients name placed on the back. When initially given this task, we had to recreate a CAD file from an original medal and modify it to make the medals more robust and easier to fabricate and finish. We would then print them on our Solidscape wax printer before casting them in yellow Bronze and hand finishing.
