Rondout Savings Bank

A request was placed through the Hudson Valley Additive Manufacturing Center (HVAMC) to design and build 250 mementos celebrating the 150 year anniversary of the Rondout Savings Bank in Kingston, NY.

The memento design was based off of the iconic Rondout Lighthouse which is included in the logo of the savings bank. The file was produced based off architectural drawings of the historic building, modeled in Rhinoceros3D, and 3D printed in PLA.

The bases were laser cut and etched to mimic the shape of the foundation of the lighthouse. Each base was etched with the logo of the savings bank, the series number, and the logo of the HVAMC. The parts were attached with a set of 3D printed snap fit clips, and the top of the lighthouse was press fit over a LED light that, when turned, would illuminate.
